Solar Data Pros was founded in 2016 with a simple goal: bring clarity to energy decisions through better data. At the time, co-founder Leroy Coffman was co-owner of one of California’s largest solar sales and service companies, where he saw firsthand the need for clearer, more reliable insights to support both customers and energy professionals.

Partnering with software architect Brad Pirtle, a platform designed to securely connect complex utility and system data, and transform it into practical insights to improve project outcomes and long-term system performance was built.

Solar Data Pros builds intelligent energy data platforms that help professionals design, analyze, and optimize energy systems with real-world utility insights.

How It Started

The company’s first tool, Know True-Up®, began as an internal solution used to improve customer experience and streamline service operations across California’s Central Valley. What started as a practical operational tool quickly evolved into a broader energy analytics platform capable of supporting solar professionals across the West Coast and eventually nationwide.

In 2023, Leroy exited the solar contracting industry and Brad stepped away from his Silicon Valley executive software architecture role to focus fully on growing Solar Data Pros and expanding its energy intelligence platform.

Leadership & Experience

Together, Leroy and Brad bring more than six decades of combined entrepreneurial and technical experience. Brad has spent over 30 years designing, launching, and successfully exiting multiple software companies, while Leroy has built and led businesses across several industries with a focus on sales leadership, product development, bottom-line growth, and organizational stability.

Supported by a talented in-house development team, Solar Data Pros has built a secure, scalable platform that today supports hundreds of energy providers and thousands of homeowners seeking clearer insight into their energy use and system performance.
